What is the Missa Andina ?

The Andean missa, Andean mass or sometimes also called Andean table It is the ritual representation of a sacred space through a set of fabrics or cloths also called unkuñas that serve to represent at a symbolic and ritual level a relationship between the physical world and the world of energy. On a level of ritualized fractality a dimension of the universe is represented on a personal level where ideas can be metaphysically constructed at the material and immaterial level. The main purpose is to be able to access a fractal part of the universe where material and immaterial creation is abundant and unlimited in such a way that scarcity and competition for both material and immaterial resources is suppressed.

The Misha Andina has been made with alpaca wool in the Andean community of Q ́ero in the Andes for thousands of years and it is represented by weaving the quantum map of the forces of the universe and its relationship with the human being. It is considered that the 3 fabrics that compose it can control the creation of a universe of its own for the wearer who officiates the ritual.

The 3 fabrics that make up an Andean Missa

1) FABRIC OF THE UNIVERSE AND FRACTALITY: it is the largest fabric and is composed of several stripes interspersed with each other, among them we recognize the strip of matter, the fringe of antimatter, the strip of sacred symbology and the strip of the union of fractals.

2) FABRIC OF DUALITY OR DOUBLE TABLE: it is a fabric that represents the complementary fields and in turn is used as an oracle in the healer work for officiating the ritual to which it serves to consult affirmations and denials.

3) QUATERNARY CLOTH OR QUADRUPLE TABLE – 4 ELEMENTS : serves as a quaternary map to divide the dimensions of the universe at the ritual level, so we find four quadrants of energy. Subtle energy quadrant, material energy, known energy and unknown energy. The ritual carried out with Andean misha helps us to order the chaotic energy field created with the ideas and thought that are formed unconsciously and in this way create an order at the metaphysical level that can materialize in benefits for our life.

The Last Inkas

At the highest altitudes in the Andes Mountains in Peru, live a group of indigenous Indians called the Q’eros. They are the direct descendants of the ancient Incan people who were invaded by the Spanish Conquistadores in the 1500’s. During that time, many of the Incan people were forced into labor in the gold and silver mines by the Spanish, but a few others escaped to the “villages in the clouds” in the refuge of the holy mountains (apus). These people survived and safe-guarded much of their sacred knowledge, keeping it intact over the centuries.

Other Incan tribes, who stayed behind, were strongly encouraged to forget their traditions and convert to Western ideologies of the church and other cultural views. The Q’eros have miraculously been able to preserve and orally pass on their sacred Inca healing traditions and ceremonies from one generation to the next. They have successfully been able to keep drawing on the wisdom of the advanced Incan societies that had previously flourished for 1000’s of years. They have also been able to continue developing these advanced techniques in healing, divination, ceremony and kept a strong connection with the spirits of their homeland

Their geographical isolation frames both their challenges as well as their unique culture, which has survived for centuries. While their isolation has acted to protect their traditions, it has also severely limited their access to opportunities, education, and services. Even today the Q’ero face severe economic, social and cultural pressures.

The main activity of the Q’ero, besides agriculture, is weaving. They use natural dyes for their wool. Their techniques and designs are considered to be the closest to those of their ancestors. Their weavings have been displayed at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC.
